We finally did it

After four years and numerous obstacles, Jake and I were married in Scotland two weeks ago. We spent a week honeymooning in a castle near Crieff in Perthshire and an additional two weeks buzzing around England.

We were married in a small, private civil ceremony followed by a morning tea reception at the castle.

I finally got to meet his family and friends who are all lovely people. We ate some fine Indian food, travelled on every form of public transportation known to man, drank in the oldest pub in England and bought lots of presents for my kids.

He's home with me now and we plan to make that permanent very soon.

I love just looking across the table at him when we're having dinner and having him smile at me. I find myself trying to incorporate the word "husband" into my conversations as often as possible...for example after the wedding I looked at Jake's son and said "Could you ask my husband to pass the clotted cream?"
